Calandro’s one of kind heritage and his sportive look make this stallion a highlight for breeding.

His father Carthago has got a breeding index of 160, which ranks him 6th of the jumping sires in Germany. Under Jos Lansink he participated twice at the Olympic Games, won bronze in the European Cup for Holland and won 2nd place at the Great Price of Aachen. His offspring have earned more than 2.7 million Euros up until now. Calandro’s mother Vanessa III of Landgraf I, was the winning mare of her year in the Elite Mare Show in Elmshorn and represented the Holsteiner at the National Mare Show and the Bundeschampionat. One of her greatest offspring so far is Calandro’s three-quarters brother Calato of Capitol I, who proved again Vanessa’s breeding dam qualities. The stem 474a also produced the international jumping horses Aldato (E. Henriks) and Kira (L. Phillipaerts) as well as the approved sires Caprivi, Coolidge, Loxgraf, Q-Verdi, Cicero and his full brother Cavalier Royale who breeds in Ireland and was 2008 for the 2nd time in a row the most successful military breeder in the world.

By now, Calandro was also introduced in German jumping tournaments under the newcomer Sarah Gonell in the class S.
